Big Thursday of Lancaster, a nonprofit 501c3 organization, hosts an annual event that raises funds to send Lancaster County residents to University of South Carolina Lancaster or to Clemson University.

Big Thursday, held every year on the third Thursday of November prior to the annual University of South Carolina v. Clemson football game, includes an annual golf tournament, live and silent auctions, dinner, and many more events that focus on raising funds for scholarships.  This year Big Thursday will be held on November 16th.

To date, Big Thursday of Lancaster has raised nearly $726,000 for Lancaster County students to attend USC Lancaster and Clemson University or $363,000 to USCL and Lancaster County Clemson Club each for scholarships.
